1.2 Automatically Collected Information

We automatically collect certain information about your device and how you interact with our app:

• Device type, model, and operating system
• IP address and approximate location (derived from IP)
• App usage statistics and feature interactions
• Video chat duration, frequency, and timestamps
• Messages sent and received (content and timestamps)
• Call history (who you called, duration, status)
• Push notification tokens (FCM tokens)

1.3 Camera and Microphone Access

Our app requires access to your device's camera and microphone solely for video chat functionality. We do not record, store, or archive video or audio calls. Video streams are transmitted directly between users via encrypted peer-to-peer connections through our video service provider (Cloudflare).

1.4 In-App Purchases

We offer virtual coins for purchase through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Purchase transactions are processed entirely by Apple or Google. We do not collect or store your payment card information. We do store a record of your purchases (product ID, transaction ID, coins credited) to maintain your coin balance.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve our video chat and messaging services
• Match you with other users based on gender preferences and interest tags
• Send push notifications for incoming calls and messages
• Process in-app purchases and maintain your coin balance
• Prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Community Guidelines
• Enforce our Terms of Use and respond to reports
• Communicate with you about updates, security alerts, and support
• Comply with legal obligations

4.1 With Other Users

Your profile information (username, profile picture, gender, interest tags) is visible to other users as part of the app's functionality. Messages you send are visible to the recipient. Call history is private to your account only.

We share information with third-party vendors who help us operate our services:

5. Advertising

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements in our app. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier to serve personalized ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings:

• Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization
• iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → turn off "Allow Apps to Request to Track"

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. Specifically:

• Account data: Retained until you delete your account
• Messages: Retained for 90 days after sending, then permanently deleted
• Call history: Retained for 1 year, then anonymized
• Push tokens: Retained until you uninstall the app or disable notifications
• Reports: Retained for 2 years for safety and legal compliance

When you delete your account, all your personal data is permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain information.

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information:

• All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption
• Video calls are encrypted end-to-end via WebRTC
• Passwords are hashed using bcrypt
• Authentication uses JSON Web Tokens (JWT) with secure signing
• Rate limiting prevents brute force attacks

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information
• Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data
• Portability: Request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format

9. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at privacy@wave.app and we will delete such information.

We use age verification during registration to help prevent underage users from accessing the platform.

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have different data protection laws. By using our Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to our servers and those of our service providers.
